βPositively Maine with Tory Ryden,β a radio show on WGAN, aired an in-depth interview with Marilyn Gugliucci, M.A., Ph.D., director of geriatrics education and research at the 911±¬ΑΟΝψΊμΑμ½ν College of Osteopathic Medicine.
During the nearly 45-minute segment, Gugliucci discussed issues affecting Maineβs aging populationand the programs aimed at meeting those challenges through education of future health professionals. Ryden specifically asked about the Learning by Living nursing home immersion project and the 48-hour hospice home immersion project Gugliucci designed and implemented, which provide medical students with a firsthand experience of living as a patient or providing end of life care.
